What IP Rating Means for Metal Push Button Switches

2026-08-18

When selecting metal push‑buttons, indicator lights and emergency stop switches for industrial equipment, charging piles or marine devices, IP rating is one of the most critical technical parameters you cannot ignore.

IP rating consists of two digits. The first digit stands for dust‑proof performance, and the second digit represents water‑proof performance. For outdoor and harsh‑working‑condition projects, IP67 is widely recognized as a cost‑effective solution.

‑ IP6X: Complete dust‑tight protection, no dust can enter inside the switch housing. ‑ IPX7: Short‑term immersion resistant, suitable for splash, rain and wet‑environment scenarios.

Many customers overlook IP grade and choose low‑protection switches for outdoor charging pile or marine cabinet applications. Such misuse will easily cause short circuit, oxidation and early‑stage failure.

Our 8301 series metal push‑button switches support IP67 protection. We keep strict inspection on every finished unit before shipment. If you have special requirements for IP grade, our technical team can provide targeted product recommendation according to your actual working environment.
